Goals

Before I elaborate on about what I intend to write, first of all, wow, a lot happened since 2008. The experience I gained from working part-time at the Matta Fair seems so minuet now. A lot have happened since then. Good, bad and terrible experiences which I have went through.

Currently, I have started a Business Management course back at Disted. Disted has changed a lot internally and externally to the extend of their name! It was very nice to see the old faces there. :)

My lecturers are aware that I have no Commerce background at all due to the fact of being a total pure science students; and very concerned about it. There was so many subjects dumped on us, science students during high school which prohibited us to take any extra subjects. Well, it's no use focusing on the cause but how to fix/improve the situation. I'm blessed with practically all my lecturers who are patient and very helpful. The only thing that would help me push through is reading and doing a lot of background work. I pray that God gives me the strength to push through this with flying colours.

Back to the topic, 'Goals'. Our homework for my Business Skills 1 was to list out our short, medium and long term goals.

I'm technically still practicing yearly goals set for myself, but not these kind of goals. As I reflect my old list of these 'kind' of goals. I cannot help myself laughing somehow.

Since the age of 5 or 6, I wanted to achieve at least a certificate of anything each year. You must understand where I was coming from for I used to think then that getting a certificate proves - I have achieved/learn something. Innocent thinking? Actually, I was looked upon then as a child who could not possible achieve anything. I remembered even bringing my whole certificates to prove them wrong. Only around the age of 13, I stumbled on this article and read it - making me realize that not everything is based on a certificate. :) But I still admit that I do still gain a certificate annually but it's not a main goal anymore. I modified it as one of my goals to pushing myself to become a more intellectually and skilled person.

Though I've done Personal Development Programme during my diploma course, I'm glad to do this again with this lecturer, Ms Jaya. She has now made me to make new(or updated?) short, medium and long term goals.

This will be a very interesting journey for me... :)

I dedicate this song to my young self -

Written in the Stars by Tinie Tempah

[Eric Turner]
Oh written in the stars
A million miles away
A message to the main
Ooooh
Seasons come and go
But I will never change
And I’m on my way

[Tinie Tempah - Verse 1]
Lets go…
Yeah
You’re listening now
They say they aint heard nothing like this in a while
Thats why they play my song on so many different dials
Cause I got more hits than a disciplined child
When they see me everybody brrrrrap’s, brrrrrraps
Man I’m like a young gun fully black Barrack
I cried tear drops over the massive attack
I only make hits like I work with a racket and bat
Look at my jacket and hat
So damn berserk
So down to earth
I’m bringing gravity back
Adopted by the major I want my family back
People work hard just to get all their salary taxed
Look Im just a writer from the ghetto like Malory blackman
Where the hells all the sanity at, damn
I used to be the kid that no one cared about
Thats why you have to keep screaming til they hear you out

[Chorus]
Oh Written In The Stars
A Million Miles Away

A Message To The Main
Ooooh
Seasons Come And Go
But I Will Never Change
And I'm On My Way

[Tinie Tempah - Verse 2]
Yeah, I needed a change
When we ate we never took because we needed a change
I needed a break
For a sec I even gave up believing and praying
I even done the legal stuff and was leaded astray
Now money is the root to the evilist ways
But have you ever been so hungry that it keeps you awake
Mate, now my hunger would leave them amazed
Great, it feels like a long time coming, fam
Since the day I thought of that cunning plan
One day I had a dream I tried to chase it
But I wasn’t going nowhere, running man!
I knew that maybe someday I would understand
Trying to turn a tenner to a hundred grand
Everyones a kid that no-one cares about
You just have to keep screaming until they hear you out

[Chorus]
Oh Written In The Stars
A Million Miles Away
A Message To The Main
Ooooh
Seasons Come And Go
But I Will Never Change
And I'm On My Way

[Outro]
